GEM: A Model for Collective Ideation

תאריך:
2014

To cope with today's hyper-competitive and fast-pacing world of business, many corporations use open innovation processes, which facilitate information aggregation, forecasting, problem solving, and idea management to leverage the collective intelligence of internal and external stakeholders. It is often argued that under certain conditions, the outcome of such processes outperforms the outcome of individual experts and pre-assigned small groups. The current paper describes Generation and Evaluation Model (GEM), a process model for collective ideation, and presents some initial insights from its deployment, as an internal idea management process, in a large insurance company.
