In her innovative project entitled “Users in Diapers: New directions in studying roles of media technologies in young children’s development” Prof. Nelly Elias attemts to examine the various effects of media uses on babies and toddlers’ cognitive, social and cultural development as well as the media potential to faciliate a more effective childrens’ interaction with the screen. Within this amrella several studies are currently coducted: The Relation of TV Screen Content with Babies and Toddlers Interactions and Imitation from the Screen : Can It Influence Motor and Linguistic Skills?  (with Dr. Idit Sulkin); The role of television and new media technologies in young children's life (Ph.D. by Yehuda Bar-Lev, jointly supervised with Dr. Sharona T. Levy); and The use of mobile-application technology as a visual aid for treating communication disorders in toddlers (Ph.D. by Noga Korman).
