LINKS and Kadima Mada (World ORT) have joined forces to conduct an exciting program for the development of "interdisciplinary thinking in an enriched technology environment"

The " interdisciplinary thinking in an enriched technology environment " project is led by Adi Kidron,  a promising Ph.D student  at the University of Haifa. The project is designed to address the need to develop one of the essential skills for the information society - that of  interdisciplinary thinking and knowledge integration. The project is a shared venture between "Kadima Mada" (World ORTand the LINKS I-CORE.

The project is based on an instructional model for learning and understanding interdisciplinary learning through technology enhanced communities, which is being developed and researched at LINKS . This model attempts to break common conventions in both its curricular teaching and pedagogical aspects, seeking to change the culture of teaching and learning. From the curricular perspective, the model focuses on knowledge intergration from several disciplinary points of view. From the pedagogical perspective, the model is based on the integration of enhanced technology-learning communities through a substantial change in the role of teacher from "content expert"  to "interdisciplinary tutor".

As part of the project, the model is being implemented in three schools over the course of  three years during which teachers qualify to design, develop and tutor whole teaching units.
